OLDCODEX is a band with Tatsuhisa Suzuki, also known as “Ta_2”, and “YORKE.” who is known for his collaborations with numerous musicians, artists and their artwork, and live painting.
The band name OLDCODEX is the combination of “OLD” and “CODEX”, meaning “old” and “manuscripts, such as the Bible”. Ta_2 gave the name meaning that rock music itself is something that is borrowed from the West but that they would also like to create something of their own in that as well. As the name goes, they have created a unique genre-less kind of music and produce music as a comprehensive “work” combined with visual aspects. In addition to the musicianship transmitted by Ta_2, they have a reputation for visually aggressive live performances combined with live painting by YORKE.
